product toilet keeps running, water keeps running in toilet, toilet fill valve keeps running
Converts standard flush toilet to a dual flush. 2 button flush design. Quick flush can use up to 70% less water. No tools necessary. No need to remove the tank to install. Works with most standard flush valves that use a flapper. Mansfield toilets require installation of a standard flush valve, sold separately. Works on front and side mount levers.
MJSI’s HYR270 HydroRight drop-in dual-flush converter can save a family of four more than 15,000 gallons of water per year by providing users a choice between a full or reduced flush. Designed and patented to simply drop in to your toilet tank and attach to the existing flush valve, installation of the HydroRight requires no tank removal or tools and can be completed in less than 10 minutes. The HydroRight works with all standard two- and two-and-a-half-inch flush valves and provides consumers an inexpensive, hassle-free way to save water.

The Case for Dual-Flush Technology
Arriving first as dual-flush toilets, more recent plumbing innovation has produced dual-flush converters that retrofit existing toilets into dual-flush systems. The HydroRight converter includes a two-button handle that gives users the ability to select the amount of water being used during the flush: the quick flush for liquids and paper and the full flush for solids. Adjusting the water flow for both flushes is quickly and easily done inside the tank thanks to the HydroRight. In addition, because the HydroRight’s dome gasket sits in the drain hole rather than a flapper, problems associated with flappers—like leaks and broken or tangled chains—are eliminated. The USEPA estimates that 20 percent of all toilets leak up to 200 gallons of water a day (the equivalent of 73,000 gallons a year), mostly because of faulty flappers. Not with the HydroRight: To install, remove the old flapper and handle, slide dual flush down the overflow tube inside your tank and tighten, and replace the handle with button and set the quick-flush amount. No more jiggling the handle to flush properly.

This review is from: BlueSource HYR270 HydroRight Drop-in Dual Flush Converter by MJSI (Tools & Home Improvement) UPDATE (Dec 2011):At Home Depot today I saw an end cap with an infomercial running about this gizmo. However, I took one out of the box, and I was so disappointed to see the same darn paper-thin gasket that I (and many others) have reported to them over the past 2 years. Additionally, the Home Depot staff said they get a lot of returns on this item. This company knows that their gasket is too thin, causes leaks, and that including a higher grade gasket would cost them very little (approx 20 per unit). Somehow they can find the budget to launch a Home Depot marketing campaign & produce a new infomercial, but can't spend an extra 20 per product to prevent the headaches they're causing. I'll add that my fixes work, but the silicone seal is NOT a permanent solution (already had to replace it once). If this gizmo is not ready to use out-of-the-box, and requires annual or semi-annual maintenance, it is NOT ready for the market. If you want a dual flush, you can... This review is from: BlueSource HYR270 HydroRight Drop-in Dual Flush Converter by MJSI (Tools & Home Improvement) I ordered this for the obvious reason to save water. As a male gets older, he needs to do the "liquid" flush more often. It's important to heed what they say for tank clearance...ours barely made it! But with EXCELLENT customer support, (I was able to speak to the inventor himself), they were able to walk me through the adjustments.....Problem is, it didn't work on the small flush....my old water valve would not allow the tank to fill enough to do the job. I was advised to order their HydroClean water valve ($9.00+s & h), which is adjustable, so you can raise the level of the water in the tank to work the short flush.....this means you'll use a little more water on the long flush, but most of us don't use that that often. I only ordered one of the water valves because I wanted to make sure it would all work.....and IT REALLY DOES!!!! The bottom line here is that, with their customer support (who all spoke perfect English, located in Illinois) were so great and helped me... This review is from: BlueSource HYR270 HydroRight Drop-in Dual Flush Converter by MJSI (Tools & Home Improvement) I did not pay attention to this detail: the HydroRight Dual Flush is not compatible with ballcock valves, so I had to replace the valve first (paid another $12 for each replacement, but it was my fault anyway). I bought two units for testing, replacing the master bath first, which I did in about 20 minutes, including replacing the ballcock valve, no big deal. Adjustments were simple and quick. When I installed the second unit in another bathroom, I noticed the tank was leaking water slowly through the overflow tube, something I had not noticed when the original ballcock was in. It took me a while, but I was able to track the problem down to a crack at the bottom of the overflow tube, which I had to replace, but the problem was completely solved. Thanks to this decision to 'go green', my water savings will be even better than I had originally anticipated. Now I am buying another one for the last toilet at the house. |

My wife used to insist on throwing those bleach disk things into the tanks of all our toilets, which caused me to have to replace the flapper valves at least once a year as they got brittle and stiff in the continuous presence of oxidizer in the tank water. I was quite happy when I found this cleaning system at a local store as an alternative. The bleach is added to the water that is sprayed into the standpipe and ends up in the bowl; none of it goes into the tank to ruin the valve, flapper, or other parts.Installation was very simple. You don't even have to shut off the water supply. I did six of them in less than an hour altogether. Replacing the cartridges is simple. I was afraid the cartridges wouldn't last very long, given the number of users in our house (and a number of them small children who tend to use the toilet more often), but even if our highest-use toilet they seem to last three to four... Here is how to make it more economical. Use up the cartridge that comes with the cleaner kit, then remove the used cartridge and with a hacksaw blade or serrated similar carefully cut off the top of the cartridge at top of the first line of perforations and using a flat file smooth at the cut line. Then discard the bottom of the used cartridge. You now have a usable cap with a seal. Buy several pounds of 1" chlorine swimming pool stabilized chlorinating tablets. drop three of these into the unit chamber and seal with the cap. Does the same job at a much reduced cost. 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful ![]() By Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) Does not erode toilet working parts and yet does a wonderful job. Easy to install, replace cartridges, and maintain. Investment for long term use. Highly recommended for home use. |
