I have 4 toilets and I installed the fill valve in all four. I read the side of the box and apparently it was claimed that the toilet bowl is overfilled every time you flush. I did a test on my toilet to see how much water was being wasted down the drain (I am an engineer and I was curious). Before I installed the hydroclean valve, I make a mark with a pencil in the toilet bowl at the water line and disconnected the tiny rubber tube from the overflow tube (the overflow tube is that larger tube that sticks straight up in the middle of the tank near the flapper). I held the end of the tiny rubber tube so it was directed into the overflow tube like normal and flushed the toilet. The toilet bowl is refilled by the little trickle of water in that tiny tube. After the toilet tank started to refill, I waited until the water level in the toilet bowl reached the mark I made. MJSI HC660 is a toilet tank component that controls the way the toilet fills up with water. Compared to my old valve which was so slow and loud this one is all but the opposite. Quiet, fast refill and ease of adjusting water level are the key features you need to know about it. Yes, it does a good job rinsing the tank too. I can't think of a good purpose for that, unless the crud that accumulates there makes the water stink.
It also doesn't trickle into the bowl while the tank is filling up and fills the bowl about 1/2" less.
So buy it, install it and adjust its height about 1.5" below the tank's water level. Use it a few days and raise the level as needed to find the optimum fill volume.
Of course this valve is an improvement over any malfunctioning valve. But I don't think it's saving me 4 quarts of water over other contemporary valves.

For a few dollllars more than your standard tank repair kit, get this one instead. It promises a few key benefits, and delivers on them.

Some of the features advertised on this kit are standard with a normal kit:
1. Setting the amount of water that fills the tank - this is done the same way as a normal kit, by adjusting the height of the float with a screw - easy as cake.
2. Water savings on a flush - this is a bit debateable since any new fill valve will save water over what's wasted by a broken one.

Some of the unique features offered by this kit:
1. Calibrating the amount of water that goes into the bowl through the fill tube - This is the best reason to buy this kit. With a simple lever you can adjust the fill amount to a reasonable level. My toilet was from 1984, and wasted a lot of water by overfilling the bowl every time. The amount of water I save with just this adjustment will pay for the kit in no time.
